Inca is Mallorcas 3rd largest town and sits halfway up the Islands Motorway between Palma and Alcudia, In fact its almost at the centre of the island sp a great llocation for exploring  and at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range as well

Inca is a year-round destination. The town and its surrounding villages are perfect for those keen to experience some genuine Mallorcan culture and is Best known as the 'city of leather' because of a lengthy history of leather making that still continues today .

It's largely a residential town which has recently seen some international stores move into town yet its still full of native Mallorcans living alongside a small expat community and has excellent transport links to the rest of the island.

The town is steeped in history and, although its not as pretty as some of the other towns on the island it does display some lovely architecture. The local market takes place every Thursday is one of its main tourist attractions, and there are good number of boutique and high-street stores as well as cafes and a selection of restaurants . For high-street shopping, head to Avinguda del Bisbe Llompart which has famed Spanish brands like Mango along with some independent stores. Carrer des Hostals, is where you will find boutique shops selling international designer labels.

Situated in the land around Inca are some of the Islands finest vinyards where you can take tastings and tours. To the south of Inca are the vineyards belonging to Binissalem

In Inca itself many old wine cellars have been converted into Restaurants that boast so much character and these are known as 'celler' restaurants which are best known for serving authentic Mallorcan food.

Interntational restaurants are also popping up here and more recently the winner of Masterchef Spain opened a restaurant here which has started a new trend of eateries in the area

Inca's architecture is quite a mix and certainly interesting, while it isn't the prettiest of towns there are a few buildings and other sights and attractions of interest. The churches are the main attraction, particularly the Baroque-style parish church of Santa Maria Maggiore. Other historical places of interest are the Convento Dominicano de Santo Domingo, the Puig de Santa Magdalena and the Convento de Sant Bartomeu. Also the Church of San Francisco and its cloister, The main square, Plaça d'Espanya and the legendary Spanish steps, there are plenty of nice cafes and bars.

Fiestas and events are a big deal in Inca and there are often concerts, exhibitions and specialist markets throughout the whole of the year

Inca hosts Mallorca's biggest autumn fair, known as the Dijous B or Good Thursday. It was originally an agricultural fair that has grown to include exhibitions, music concerts, fireworks and all-night parties. It takes place across various weekends in October and November and throughout July Inca hosts a Jazz Festival within the Cloisters

Hiking and cycling are also a good options here as villages like Lloseta, Selva or Mancor de la Vall. These are good places to start hikes and explore the countryside
